Abstract In this work the numerical results of natural convection and surface thermal radiation in an open cavity receiver with a side wavy wall considering large temperature differences and variable fluid properties are presented. The overall continuity, momentum, and energy equations are solved numerically by using the finite-volume method and the SIMPLEC algorithm.
