Large-Eddy Simulation based on Lattice Boltzmann method for simulation of turbulent flow in an L-shaped pipe

چکیده مقاله

The Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) is a novel method for simulating convection-diffusion of problems. In this paper fluid flow and heat transfer inside L-shaped enclosure filled with water has been analyzed. It has tried to present Large-eddy simulation (LES) based on Smagorinsky–Lilly SGS model with simple and perfect statement. LES is widely used in simulating turbulent flows in industries because of its less computational needs compared to Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) where the Kolmogorov Eddies have to be resolved. The validity of the numerical code used is acceptable agreement with the verifications. At the end, stream lines, velocity at different parts and temperature distribution in the pipe are showen.
