Synthesis ofcysteine,cobaltandcopper-dopedTiO۲ nanophotocatalystswithexcellentvisible-light-inducedphotocatalytic activity

چکیده مقاله

Charge separationisavitalprocessinordertoachievehighperformanceTiO2-based photocatalysts.In the urrentstudy,toenhancethechargeseparationandsuppressthechargerecombination,novelna- nocomposites ofmetal(CoandCu)andnonmetal(C,N,S)dopedTiO2 nanophotocatalyst(labeledas Co@C,N,S-doped TiO2 and Cu@C,N,S-dopedTiO2) weresynthesizedviaphotochemicaldeposition-as- sisted sol–gel technique.Thecrystallinestructuresandcharacteristicofthepreparedcatalystswere analyzed byXRD,SEM,TEM,EDAX,PL,andUV–vis DRSspectroscopies.Thephotocatalyticperformance of thesampleswastestedthroughdecompositionofmethylorange(MO)aqueoussolutionsunderUV and visiblelightirradiation.ItwasfoundthatphotodepositionofmetalsontoTiO2 slowedchargere- combination comparedtopureTiO2 in additiontoformationofhigherconcentrationofOHradicalson the TiO2 photocatalystsurfaceduringlightirradiationcomparedtopureTiO2. Beyondtheoptimum content of2wt%CuandCo,adeclineinphotocatalyticperformancewasobservedwhichwasascribedto metal agglomerationandblockageofthephotosensitiveTiO2 surface.
