چکیده مقاله

In the paper, application of encapsulated phase change material (PCM) in sphere packed pipe (SPP) for solar latent heat thermal energy storage (SLHTES) system is numerically investigated. The PCM-SPP is a pipe filled with mono-sized spheres of encapsulated phase change material (PCM). A series of numerical simulation were conducted to study the flow structure in SPP and the thermal behavior of a sphere packed bed latent heat in the SLHTES. Moreover the effects of water mass flow rate on the thermal performance of the capsules have been investigated. The PCM thermal storage time is considered in relation to the floor surface temperature under different water flow rates. The results obtained can be used for conceptual design and the thermal performance analysis of both charging and discharging processes in SLHTES.
