This paper presents the CFD evaluation of the split vane mixing vane for a typical SMR rod bundle using the commercial code FLUENT 12.0. Also, available experimental and numerical data on Nu distribution and velocity measurements are used to assess the present CFD model. Turbulent Enhanced Mixing Analysis (TEMA) contributes further to turbulent convective heat transfer mechanisms in a subchannel of a typical SMR core
