High temperature water gas shift reaction was carried out over nanocrystalline chromium and chromium free iron based catalysts. Mesoporous catalysts were prepared by coprecipitation method. The results indicated that at lower temperature the Fe-Cr-Cu catalysts showed the highest CO conversion. Furthermore, addition of Ba improved HT activity of the Fe-Al-Ni catalyst related to the increment of amount in weakly basic sites through promoter addition. The stability tests revealed that although Fe-Al-Ni-Ba and the prepared Fe decrease in CO conversion during 50 h time on stream
