A numerical Study on Cooling of a Thermal Element in a Square Enclosure with Mixed Convection Flow of Nano-fluid

چکیده مقاله

Cooling a heat source with a uniform heat flux in a square closure with mixed convection flow has been studied numerically. Different flows of nano-fluid (water-copper, water- aluminum oxide, water-copper oxide) enter the closure through a bottom left opening and they exit through bottom right opening. The governing equations on the permanent and laminar mixed convection along with the boundary condition have been solved by using finite-volume method and SIMPLE algorithm. Numerical stimulations have been performed for water with prandtl number 7 in three values for Reynolds number (Re=50, 100, 150) and various values for Richardson number range 0.01≤Ri≤100. Numerical results have indicated that increasing values for Reynolds and Richardson numbers results in increased heat transferred coefficient. These changes increase up to (Ri =10) first with a gentle slope and then with a higher intensity.
