Gold- catalyzed one pot synthesis of novel Benzoquinone derivatives from Furan- Yne

چکیده مقاله

The use of the combination of homogeneous gold-catalysts and alkynes in organic synthesis is reviewed from its beginnings in C-N-bond formation to the newest developments in C-C-bond formation. The reactions can be performed in a one pot procedure with the same precatalyst. The extraordinary ability of gold to activate multiple bonds has led to a large number of new approaches for the construction of diverse carbo- and heterocyclic structures. As part of our ongoing research program on the development of efficient methods for the preparation of biologically active compounds, herein, we report a one-pot synthesis of 1,4-Benzoquinones via gold catalyst. By using the same gold catalyst for two subsequent reaction steps, which consist of a furan–yne cyclization followed by a oxidation reaction, 1,4-Benzoquinones are feasible under exceptionally mild reaction conditions and in a one-pot process.
