چکیده مقاله

The presence of toxic metals in aqueous systems has become a problem due to their harmful effects on human health and other organisms in the environment. Among them, chromium is one such metal that requires considerable attention. Industrial wastewater from the chrome-plating and metal fishing industries, pigmentation, textile plants, leather tanning, and dyes contain chromium in high concentration.1 Since the main sources of Cr(VI) for humans are water and food, the preconcentration and selective separation of trace or ultra-trace amounts of Cr(VI) from food and natural water are very important and need further study.2 In this study, a novel sorbent based on triazine-functionalized Fe3O4 nanoparticles (Fe3O4@ADMPT) was synthesized and were used for separation of ultra-trace amounts of chromate anions by solid phase extraction method. This sorbent has the advantages of high adsorption capacity, easy separation and low detection limit. The Cr(VI) removal efficiency of 85.8% was achieved at the optimum initial pH of 3. The maximum adsorption capacity was 170.68 mg g−1 at an initial concentration of 75.0 mg L−1 and adsorbent dosage of 0.1 g L−1. Furthermore, the kinetic and isotherm models were used to describe the adsorption kinetic and equilibrium of Cr(VI) removal by this adsorbent. The new sorbent was successfully applied for the determination of Cr(VI) anions in a few environmental samples using continuous method.
