The synthesis of dialkylaminonitrile derivatives of 2-formylbenzoic acid by the Strecker reaction in an aqueous medium

A simple and efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of some dialkylaminonitrile derivatives of 2-formylbenzoic acid by simply mixing 2-formylbenzoic acids, secondary amines, and sodium cyanide via the Strecker reaction in water at room temperature without any activation or catalyst.
