An eco-friendly and solvent free approach for the synthesis of chiral fulleropyrrolidines under microwave irradiation

In this study, several chiral fulleropyrrolidines were synthesized in one-pot reaction of C60 with the L-proline and aldehyde derivatives using microwave irradiation under solvent-free conditions in good yield. This approach has several advantages including high rates and yields, decrease of the extent of decomposition of the substrates as well as environmental friendliness compared to the conventional methods.
