Chromenes possess many biological properties including activities against cancer,1 pathogenic microbes,2 influenza,3 inflammation,4 diabetes,5 and Alzheimer’s disease.6 Some chromene drugs are noteworthy for their high bioavailabilities and prolonged duration of effect.7 Therefore, the preparation of chromenes continues to be a notable challenge.
