The Heisenberg Characters of Finite Groups

Suppose that G is a finite group and χ is an irreducible character of G. χ is called a Heisenberg character, if kerχ⊇ [G,[G,G]]. One can be easily seen that it is possible to identify the Heisenberg characters of G with the irreducible characters of the quotient .
