چکیده مقاله

Desertification is a major concern of this century occurs as a result of climatic and human factors. Desertification results in injury to humans and damage to ecosystem goods, natural environment, agricultural lands, forest etc. The current work aims to desertification hazard map in Jaz-Murian region by Iranian Model of Desertification Potential assessment (IMDPA) based on groundwater and climate parameters. For water criterion, four indices included electrical conductive (Ec), Sodium absorption ratio (SAR), chloride (CL), and ground water depletion were used in order to assessment of desertification in this region, moreover, two climatic indices (precipitation and aridity index) were considered. After the scoring of all indices and criteria, the total score for desertification calculated based on geometric average of criteria.
