چکیده مقاله
Abstract Dyslexia is a learning disability which has received much attention by researchers. Considering recent auditory and visual attractiveness of various educational software and children‟s interest in playing in such contexts, we developed asoftware called Natek (Persian acronym for Word Practice Game) to linguistically help dyslexic children. This game is based on word practice, enhancement of phonemic competence, and familiarity with high-frequency words. Linguistically speaking, it is believed that frequent repetition of words leads to primary learning and learning consolidation in the learner‟s mind. In this game, there are three levels, each including five exercise types developed based on primary school students‟ common linguistic mistakes. The exercises include omission, letter insertion, substitution, replacement, and selection. The results indicate that linguistic games could enhance reading ability of children with dyslexia.
