چکیده مقاله
Abstract: Saffron is the most valuable crop on the planet, the study of its genetic diversity is of special importance and can provide the basis for its breeding and genetic modification. Different molecular and morphological markers have presented various results of genetic diversity of saffron. Some markers show the uniformity and some polymorphism of saffron. Due to the sterility of saffron, mutations or environmental factors can be the cause of morphological diversity of this plant. Knowing the closest wild relative of saffron and studying it can provide the basis for improving the quantity and quality of saffron products. The results of various studies in this regard are contradictory and it is suggested that more markers be examined.
